【#牛臥】海岸には海底火山だった溶岩が崩れ、転がっています。実際には火山の形が侵食によって削られて、とんがった形で残っています。岩石の種類としては、流紋岩とのことなので、溶岩ドームの一部が残っているという方が近いかな。http://twitpic.com/ea0o0x

【#牛臥】ガスが抜けた後があるのは火山性の岩の特徴ですが、ここの岩には不思議と大きな穴があいています。これは、タフォニーと呼ばれるもののようで、塩の結晶が大きくなることで広げられたものだとか。http://twitpic.com/ea0ph1

【#大室山6】大室山は「#スコリア丘」といわれていますが、スコリアってなんでしょうか？専門用語が出てきたので、ちょっと調べてみましょう。 http://www.bousai.go.jp/kazan/fujisan/about_fuji.html … この辺のサイトを見ると、富士山なんかでも見られるようですね。軽石を黒くしたような見た目で、軽石よりも穴は少ないらしい。
